Aleksander Emelianenko Highlights Special “Bodog Fight: Clash of the Nations” Episode
For Immediate Release
October 15 , 2007
He may be Fedor's “little brother”, but when it comes to fighting, Aleksander Emelianenko is creating a big stir of his own.
With a mixed martial arts record of 9-3 the 253-pound Russian Red Devil has emerged from the shadow of his famous sibling to take his own place among the sport's best heavyweights.
See for yourself, Tuesday, October 16 at 11 p.m. / 10 p.m. Central when Emelianenko squares off against 340-pound American Eric “Big” Pele (10-2) in a super-heavyweight match that threatened to melt the walls of the famed ICE Palace in St Petersburg, Russia.
The bout, which originally aired on pay-per-view last April, will be re-broadcast free on the ION Television Network (and The Fight Network in Canada) in a special episode featuring bouts from Bodog Fight: Clash of the Nations.
A light-heavyweight bout between Canada's Bill “The Butcher” Mahood (14-5-1) and American Steve Steinbeiss (1-0) will serve as the appetizer before the main course. Can “The Butcher” tenderize his opponent? Tune in and find out!
Next week, don't miss the final chapter in the special Bodog Fight: Clash of the Nations series, with Steve's brother Ray Steinbeiss taking on Russian Dmitry Samoilov, and Aleks' brother Fedor Emelianenko (24-1) facing 2000 Olympic silver medalist Matt “The Law” Lindland (20-4).
The 230-pound Fedor, widely regarded as the world's number-one ranked heavyweight, appears in front of his Russian comrades (including Russian President Vladimir Putin) for the first time in this landmark event – an absolute “must see” for any fight fan.
