Bang Ludwig On Faber Getting Shot At Cruz: “It’s Just A Favor From The UFC”

0

There’s no secret that former Team Alpha Male coach Duane “Bang” Ludwig isn’t the biggest Urijah Faber fan. The two have verbally sparred with each other dating back to Ludwig’s decision to leave Faber’s team, which also saw the only UFC champion in team history, T.J. Dillashaw, leave as well to continue working with Ludwig.

Ludwig spoke with the folks at BloodyElbow.com about his thoughts on UFC booking Faber to challenge Dominick Cruz for the UFC Bantamweight Championship in Cruz’s first defense since winning the title from Dillashaw.

“T.J. one-hundred-percent should have gotten the rematch,” said Ludwig. “It’s just a favor from the UFC to give Faber one last payday before he retires.”

As far as his prediction for the Cruz-Faber III bout, Ludwig wasn’t long-winded with his response to that one either.

“Cruz will win,” said Ludwig. “Faber hasn’t improved much, if at all.”
