Cain Velasquez Undergoes Successful Shoulder Surgery

UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez took the first step to resolving a shoulder injury that has forced him onto the bench and out of action in the UFC.

Velasquez underwent successful surgery yesterday to fix his shoulder problem and now the champ will go on the road to recovery with a hope to return to action by the fall of this year.

Velasquez had been expected to defend the title he won from Brock Lesnar in October against Junior Dos Santos in April but had to pull out of the bout due to the injury.

Now, with Velasquez out, Lesnar and Dos Santos will oppose each other on the next season of The Ultimate Fighter with the winner to face Velasquez upon his return.
