After weeks of rumors and fans trying to decide who the best possible main event for the UFC's debut on the Fox network should be, the UFC made a blockbuster announcement today that UFC 139's main event has been bumped up a week to the Fox debut.
That's right, the UFC Heavyweight title will be on the line November 12th instead of 19th as Cain Velasquez and Junior Dos Santos will kick off the seven year deal between the UFC and Fox.
It had been rumored that Anderson Silva may fight Dan Henderson or that Tito Ortiz would face Rich Franklin but ultimately the UFC brass decided to go with the heavyweight showdown.
The Velasquez vs. Dos Santos matchup will be the only guaranteed fight during the one-hour special, but the promotion will put on a full fight card for fans attending the event.
