Catching Up With “The Voice”: Exclusive Interview With Michael Schiavello


If you are a fan of the fight game you know Michael “The Voice” Schiavello. Muy Thai, Kickboxing, MMA, and more. Schiavello’s voice and his famous calls have been known world wide for over a decade. From “he has that impenetrable Virgin defense.” to “GOODNIGHT IRENE!” Michael Schiavello is known everywhere as being one of the best commentators in the sport today. The broadcasting superstar is expanding his resume’ with his new book “Know Thyself: Using Symbols of the Freemasonry to Improve Your Life”. Doing his part, in helping the every day man learn to deal with his day to day.

I was able to ask the author and long time announcer what he likes commentating most, “… I miss commentating K-1, of course, it’s not around any longer. I think for me that was the ultimate spectacle as far as fighting goes. These days, my preference, I love Mixed Martial Arts but Muy Thai is where I started. I’ll always have a soft sport for Muy Thai. I do think Muy Thai is the most exciting striking sport on the planet. It’s an ancient Martial Art, but in a modern setting. It’s so brutal, so violent, but so sublime in the technique these guys use…”
