Chad Mendes was recently interviewed by MMAjunkie to promote his fight against Frankie Edgar at the finale of The Ultimate Fighter 22. During the interview, Mendes expressed that he’s tired of talking about asked about going into his UFC 189 fight against Conor McGregor with an injury.
“Honestly, I’m tired of talking about all this pre-injury sh-t with Conor. Bottom line is I lost to Conor. I was feeling great in the fight, doing what I needed to do; he caught me with a big punch. That’s a fight I feel like if I prepared completely for, I win that fight.”
Mendes said he’s injury-free going into his fight with Edgar.
“I was definitely 100 percent going into this camp with Frankie. I was in a cast for my thumb, I got all that cleared out, got it off. My foot is 100 percent now, and I haven’t had any issues through camp with it. Everything is good.”
The Ultimate Fighter 22 Finale takes place on December 11th in Las Vegas at The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan.
