Chris Weidman Ready For Vitor Belfort

Fresh off a successful title defense at UFC 168 against Anderson Silva, Chris Weidman now sets his sights on the number one contender to the middleweight title, Vitor Belfort.

Following the card, Weidman appeared on the FOX Sports 1 post-fight show and gave his thoughts on Belfort:

“I think he’s a stud,” said Weidman, “He’s a big, strong guy, very experienced.

“(But compared to Silva) they are two completely different guys… One guys is rangy, technical, very slick. Belfort is more of a powerhouse guy who will come in and bring the heat.

“He will try to overwhelm me with power and speed.”

As for when he wants the fight to happen, it appears the sooner the better have he has a few weeks to rest:

“I am ready to get in there right away. I might have a meniscus tear, so I will get that (checked out) and maybe have two-or-three weeks off and go from there.”
