CompuStrike Stats For UFC 87: Seek And Destroy


CompuStrike sent along the following round by round stats for UFC 87: Seek And Destroy which took place from the Target Center in Minneapolos, Minn on Saturday August 9th.

Inside The Numbers: Defending welterweight champ St. Pierre took control in round one, landing 54 of 109 total strikes (50%), 48 of which were landed from the ground position. Fitch, who came into the title fight with a UFC record eight straight wins (also held by Royce Gracie), kept things close in rounds two thru four, as St. Pierre held just a 68-55 edge in total strikes landed. St. Piere then closed the show by outlanding Fitch 26-8 in total strikes in round five, 15 coming from the ground position. St. Pierre also scored 5 takedowns, including a thudding body slam late in round three.
