Dana White Has No Plans To Buy Bellator MMA

Despite buying up almost all of their competition in the past such as PRIDE FC and Strikeforce, UFC President Dana Whites told Ariel Helwani today that the UFC has no plans to ever try and buy Bellator MMA:

“There’s nothing there,” said White to MMAFighting. “If you look at any other company we ended up buying in the past, there was value. There’s no value to that company whatsoever.”

“If you look at Pride, look at all the contracts we got from Pride, all the guys that came over. Look at Pride’s library. Amazing library, with some of the most talented fighters of all times. When we bought WFA, we bought it because Rampage had a contract with them. When we bought Strikeforce, we bought their library. Just the fights we had with Nick Diaz alone were worth buying that company.”

Give it about two or three more years and I bet he’ll change his mind.

There is a lot of potential in Bellator. But money wise they are no threat to the UFC.. I think thats why Dana wont do it.

He also said women would never fight in the UFC.

No it’s because Bellator fighters aren’t well rounded. Most have very little wrestling skills. That’s why “Boring” Ben Askren dominated even though he’s a terrible mma fighter. Even the owners of Bellator said most of their guys lack wrestling skills.

Well if he did he might as well re-hire all the guys that ufc cut -_-

Bellator cultivates new talent in a non-Don King Atmosphere that will eventually exceed UFC. They don’t need to be bought.

He shouldn’t. Im very happy he wont. If he did he would only shut it down or change it to UFC standards to where they only show crap fights for free and a monthly $60 PPV that lacks action because he cut all of his fighters that could fill in for the injured fighters… I would rather the show (Bellator) that shows good fights for free on a weekly show and actually cares about the fans instead of $$$ to stay on the air.

He will eventually buy bellator as he has every major promotion. im surprised he hasn’t been sued for a monopoly or something .

I recall Dana saying similar thing about Stikeforce ( or as he called it Strikefarce ) a couple years back…

Dana White is a complete dousch bag asshole. He must feel somewhat intimidated, because he constantly bashes Bellator at any opportunity. Maybe Randy Couture has something to do with it. Dana is a prick!! Nothing less !!

The old flip-flopper himself speaking again out the side of his neck. Let’s see, Bellator puts on some amazing shows, their fighters are hungry and ready to fight, they have a quite a few MAJOR sponsors and yet there is nothing there? Hey Dana, how that’s womens MMA working for you? You should probably just shut up or plead the 5th when someone asks you a question other than “what’s your name?”
