On Thursday, UFC President Dana White made some announcements on a variety of newsworthy topics.
White used the Twitter’s “Periscope” service to reveal some predictions for upcoming mega-fights, as well as his early thoughts on who he has narrowed down to be the first challenger of UFC Heavyweight Champion Fabricio Werdum.
Below are a couple of the news and notes White revealed on Thursday.
– He predicted that the UFC 189 pay-per-view from Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday July 11th, featuring the UFC Featherweight title fight between Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor, with Robbie Lawler vs. Rory MacDonald for the UFC Welterweight Championship in the co-main event, will draw at least one million buys on pay-per-view.
– White noted that he, Nick “The Tooth” Gallo and former UFC Welterweight Champion Matt Serra will be going to Atlanta, Georgia to film a reality television show.
– According to White, the first man to challenge undisputed UFC Heavyweight Champion Fabricio Werdum will be either Andrei Arlovski or Stipe Miocic. He also noted that he hasn’t officially made up his mind yet, and that if Junior Dos Santos wasn’t out dealing with an injury, he would have received the first crack at Werdum’s title.
– Finally, White announced UFC color-commentator Joe Rogan will be undergoing shoulder surgery in the near future. However many shows, if any at all, Rogan will be missing while he recovers from the shoulder operation remains to be seen.
