Dana White Says UFC Is “Really Close” To Signing Gina Carano vs. Ronda Rousey

As we have been reporting over the last several weeks, UFC has been in discussions with former female MMA star turned Hollywood actress Gina Carano about coming out of retirement to fight in the UFC.

It was noted that if Carano were to sign with the UFC, that she would receive an immediate title shot against UFC’s Women’s Bantamweight Champion, “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey.

UFC President Dana White appeared on the Jim Rome Show today and discussed the Carano negotiations. After weeks of saying that UFC is “getting close” to signing the female MMA star, during his appearance on Rome, the phrase changed, as he noted that he is “really close” to signing her to face Rousey inside the Octagon.

We should have an update on the Gina Carano situation at the beginning of next week, as White had noted in the past that he should have an announcement one way or the other during the first week of September.

Talk about this on our official FACEBOOK page, or on our official TWITTER page. You can also talk about it in our popular FORUMS.

That is cool, but I want to see Zingano/ Holm vs. Rousey. That would be something.

Now if only they could get Cyborg unboard longer than the drug test it will be great. Sadly she seems to have mixed feelings about being tested for ped.

She doesn’t have mixed feelings, she knows she’ll fail like she has in the past. I wouldn’t be surprised if Cyborg was revealed as a man honestly. She is way too buff and butch to be 100% female without the assistance of some serious steroids or HGH or something.

They seem to be the only two women in UFC. It’s either one or the other that’s being talked about or referenced.

Could it be a bra and panties match please

      I second that lol

I’m sure the outcome will still be the same…Rousey undefeated. Not to mention Gina next armbar victim hands down
