Dominick Cruz Vs. Joseph Benavidez Set For WEC 50 On August 18th

WEC 50 is really beginning to take shape with the announcement of a Bantemweight Title defense today from Champ Dominick Cruz.

Cruz announced today that he will face Joseph Benvidez in his first title defense since winning the title from Brian Bowles in March.

Cruz holds a previous win over Benavidez. Cruz defeated Benavidez via a unanimous decision. The fight was one that set Cruz up as a contender in the WEC's 135lb class.

With the title being defended in the main event it was also announced yesterday that Urijah Faber will drop down to the 135lb division to take on Takeya Mizugaki.
