Someone please tell Renzo....
You're not supposed to let someone kick the bejeezus out of your one leg until you can't stand up anymore! Dance away, check/block shin-to-shin, step inside the opponent's circle hip to thigh--anything but take it and take it and take it.... Painful to watch and quite stupid. Has he no coach?

Silva is no Muhammad Ali
What a shame that Anderson Silva got so caught up in the funny business that the crowd seemed at first to be eating up--and even had the ref laughing at one point--and his hero Ali's penchant for mooning and mocking, that he forgot that in MMA you're supposed to put your opponent away, not shame him. A samurai is honored to be able to provide his opponent a shameless, clean demise--with real respect (see Kenflo's recent win for an excellent MMA example). The Spider now needs to work, for a good, long time to come, on his form and manners. Sometimes Silva seems to have a child-like (innocent, emotional) inner nature, that did not serve him well this time, although for the first couple rounds he looked like, in Yeats' description of the steel of a sword wrapped in silk, beauty and truth together laid. Boy, can those eight legs dance!
