Exclusive: Despite Rumor, KJ Noons Not In Talks With The UFC

Earlier today a rumor hit the web that former EliteXC lightweight champion KJ Noons would be debuting with the UFC at UFC Fight Night 18 and would be taking on Melvin Guillard in light weight action.

Noons denied the rumor when MMANews.com asked what the scoop was on the story. “It's not true, my phone has been going nuts about that one.” Noons told us. “Although it would be a great match up it is all rumors at this point. If anybody wants to they can contact Joe Silva or Dana White though and let them know but at this point I have had no talks with the UFC.”

Noons, who was last in action in early December, only in a boxing match instead of MMA, picked up a victory in his return to the boxing ring. He last fought MMA for EliteXC in June when he KO'd Yves Edwards to defend his title.

Following that fight Noons would get into contract disputes with the now defunct company which would lead to him being stripped of the title.
