MMANews.com was able to catch up with Josh Koscheck earlier today to discuss his upcoming fight at UFC 95 with Paulo Thiago and while the top ranked welterweight is focused on his UFC 95 bout, rumors were flying across the web that he would be fighting Karo Parisyan at UFC 98 in May. Koscheck commented on the fight during the conversation:
“I was suppose to fight him at UFC 98 on May 23rd but he tested positive for drugs or steroids or something like that, I’m not really sure, but that fight is now off. I will be fighting on the card but right now my focus is not on that fight. I’m focused on Paulo Thiago.”
Parisyan, in fact, tested positive for Hydrocodone, Hydromorphone and Oxymorphone, but he tells Sherdog that he openly gave the information on what prescriptions he was prescribed to the NSAC prior to the UFC 94 bout.
“The Heat” could face a lengthy suspension for the positive test – another UFC fighter, James Irvin, tested positive for similar substances in July and was handed down a nine month suspension.
