Exclusive: Update On Kevin Randleman's Staph Infection

A few weeks ago MMANews.com spoke with Kevin “The Monster” Randleman concerning a nasty staph infection that he had running down the side of his body (read that original article with photos of the staph here). Today I had the chance to speak with Kevin again and he gave me an update on the situation:

“Everything is going well now,” Randleman stated. “I feel good and I am healing well.”

At the time I spoke to Kevin, he had two holes in his side that were about six inches apart. Both holes were connected and the reason for that was due to the fact that the doctor had to clean out all of the infection that was inside and when all was said and done the holes ended up being connected. The hole under Kevin's armpit was so big that you could most likely fit your fist in there but that has changed: “The holes are really small now and the wound is clearing up,” said Randleman.

Randleman stated in the interview I did with him (read part one HERE and part two HERE) that he waited nearly two months before he even went to get the infection checked. Kevin learned his lesson from that and is now letting nature run its course. Randleman said, “I'm just taking my time and letting my body heal.”

Kevin also would like to thank everyone for the well wishes he has received since he became ill, as he apparently received a lot of feedback from concerned fans after the story first broke here at MMANews.com.
