First reported by MMAWeekly.com that Xtreme Couture had planned on hosting an MMA event in October, MMANews.com can now confirm that the event will take place on October 11th in Las Vegas at the Thomas and Mack Center after speaking with John Alessio who will be competing on the card against Gideon Ray.
Alessio also confirmed with MMANews.com that right now they plan on having nine bouts on the card and that they have three other confirmed match ups to go along with the Alessio/Ray fight.
Other bouts on the card include:
John Alessio vs Gideon Ray
Mike Pyle vs Brian Gassaway
Jay Herion vs Kamaka
Allan Goes vs Mike Whitehead
Alessio could not confirm the reports that HDNet would be broadcasting the event, but it was included in the MMAWeekly.com story that the network would be showing the card. Represenatives from HDNet were unavailable to comment on the possibility of the broadcast but if one were to speculate it would make sense due to the fact HDNet had planned on sending a crew to the Thomas and Mack Center anyway to show the Affliction: Day of Reckoning undercard.
The Thomas and Mack Center was set to house Affiction 2 on October 11th but after postponing the card, a few of the Xtreme Couture fighters found themselves without a fight and were training and preparing for the October card, so the gym decided to promote their own card and have it T&M Center. Fans win and fighters win with this deicision and it will keep together a string of MMA events throughout that fall that have stellar cards lined up.
MMANews.com will more on the story as it develops and as more fights are announced for the card.
