Fabricio Werdum’s First UFC Heavyweight Title Challenger Revealed

It looks like Fabricio Werdum will be standing across from a familiar face for his first official UFC Heavyweight title defense.

Werdum, who won the undisputed title by submitting Cain Velasquez via third-round guillotine choke at UFC 188 in Mexico City, Mexico, will once again meet Velasquez inside the Octagon.

While a date and location have yet to be announced for the fight, it is believed that the fight will not take place in Mexico, as a big part of the build-up to this rematch is the fact that Velasquez had trouble acclimating to the elevation of Mexico City, which sits at over 7,000 feet above sea level, for their first meeting.
