I want to see Weidman get the title shot...
I only have one guy more deserving at the Moment... Luke Rockhold... He is the SF champion, that means something... It will also be easier to sell for the UFC... They want to unify the belts as well.
Wins over Jacare and Kennedy are better than wins over Munoz and Maia in my book.
The only other guy I would not mind see getting the shot before Weidman is Lombard... He was on a huge win streak... The dominant bellator champion, with decent name recognition, exciting style, etc(the UFC takes that into account) And I had him winning over Boetch... It was an ugly fight for both guys, neither should be proud... But I still dont see how Boetch won.
Add to that if he beats Okami, he definitely has done more than Weidman... Okami is a legit top MW. A huge talent... I know anytime someone discredits Weidman's win over Munoz, they get criticized... but Munoz isnt Okami, he isnt an elite MW... He isnt a can, but not elite. Okami-Munoz proves that point... Okami won far more derisively than most think he was imo.
I really wanted/want to see Weidman take on someone like Okami, Vitor, Lombard, Sonnen, etc before getting his title shot... A true elite MW.
Since Lombard and Okami are fighting each other... If Anderson fights Luke or Hector... Weidman vs. Vitor should be made |
