So you can argue Rockhold as more deserving and accomplished over Weidman... but because Chris is a better stylistic matchup with Anderson, he should get the nod.... Yet you can easily argue that Evans is an even worse matchup for Anderson... Look at who he has fought, all of his experience. He has the wrestling, the speed, power. Solid technically everywhere. One of the best MMA wrestlers out there. Look at what he has done at LHW, and where he is ranked.... Yet it is crazy to give him a shot at Anderson... Hell a lot of those same people were in favor of Frankie fighting Aldo right off the bat.
I like Weidman and hope he is the next to face Anderson. It would be a good fight, he is clearly deserving... but all this talk about Anderson "ducking" him is ridiculous... or that he is in a class of his own, no one else deserves it like he does.
Its funny to see people on here pick apart Bispings record and state why he should be ranked high... Yet by their own standards... Munoz and Maia should not have been ranked that high either... Munoz is not a bum, he is a top10 MW... but NOT a top5 MW... I really dont put him much above someone like Stann... His best win at MW was an ugly win over Leban, who isnt ranked high... Bisping and Stann easily beat him more soundly. And a very close win over Maia... He had some wins over some known fighters, like Grove, CB, but no1 great.... guys Bisping would be accused of padding his record. He got tooled technically by Okami.
I like Weidman, he was an exciting up and coming fighter... but really? Anderson was looking for fights with GSP and Jones(not 1 without the other) and he is being accused of being scared of Weidman...

Splitting hairs? Anderson has said several times that he fights who the UFC wants him to fight... He will give his opinion on who he wants to fight, and that his opinion, but he ALWAYS says that its up to the UFC.
He was asked who he would fight if the GSP fight didnt happen... He said possibly Bisping or Weidman.
When has he ever been offered a fight with Chris... and I love the fact that Chris has been off the shelf since August... and when Anderson takes the fight with Bonner it somehow related to Weidman, who was not able to make the Brazil card... THEN got injured again, and Anderson is still ducking him... Damn...
Reminds me of how Anderson was ducking Sonnen after he took the Okami fight... got injured and fought Sonnen in his very next fight... Chris gives one hint that Anderson is ducking him and the fans run with it as if its gold. He learned well from Chael.
We have not seen the UFC offer him the Weidman fight, and why would they even offer him a fight against someone who is currently injured? it makes no sense... But yes, Anderson is probably scared... He'll run off and fight some pushover like Lombard or Rockhold.... What a disgrace... what have they done...
