This is not even remotely surprising. Though, honestly at this point I wonder if Silva is trying to build up the Weidman fight in a Sonnen-esque fight. Lord knows he hasn't seen a payday like that very often.

Souza is talented but Ed Herman might actually be his highest ranked win to date. Probably his highest ranked opponent after that is Gegard but he lost that fight; and much of this board is dubious of Gegard's actual ranking.

In a B promotion and only after their top 3-5 (depending on your timeline) fighters were moved over to the UFC. Given that context, your statement is silly. Maybe Shields and Cung Le should be ahead of Rockhold then. Oh, and Shields has a win over Ed Herman, just like Souza, so he's clearly top of the line.
