Yeah, it's hard to know when Dana's lying or telling the truth, he's equally passionate when doing both. I say good for Ryan and Randy. Randy will be a big part of Bellator and has an opportunity to be on the ground floor should they prove be a successful alternative to the UFC. time will tell if he made a smart move.
I think Bellator is souring their reputation with fighters, especially with this Alverez non-sense that they are tied up in. But as Dana's personality continues to drive off talent, bellator still stands to gain good fighters. If they continue to be successful they could even start claiming to have the best in the world, should they start doing successful PPVs. Keep in mind "the best in the world" is a matter of perception not actually going out and proving it against other organizations. Should Bellator become successful in the PPV arena, they can lay out an open invitation for the UFC to send fighters to the tournament. It would be risky, but then again the UFC would never risk the brand. So it would leave Bellator looking like the more legit sporting organization. And if they can cozy up to ESPN.....it seems the UFC is so infatuated with FOX SPORTS, that they may be wide open for attack down the road. JMO.

"I don't call the fighting in my films 'violent', I call it 'action'. An action film borders between fantasy and reality. If I were to be completely realistic in my films, you would call me a violent, bloody man. I would simply destroy my opponent by tearing his guts out. I wouldn't do it so artistically." ~Bruce Lee |
