Anderson is using the UFC's greed to avoid fighting Chris Weidman. Why? The risk/reward ratio is not in Silva's favor. Weidman poses too much of a risk to Silva for the reward he represents. Weidman is not well-known and thus not as huge a payday via PPV cuts, something that the UFC can EASILY fix with a stellar UFC Countdown that takes a peek into who Weidman is.

Benson Henderson had the problem that noone (casuals) knew who he really was but in the lead up to his fight with Frank Edgar, his countdown rallied a new group of fans after getting to know him.

What I am saying is, is that the UFC hype machine can build Weidman up, but it has not done so because it is looking for an already established brand to fight Anderson.

GSP won't fight Anderson. Anderson won't fight Jones. Rashad Evans lost. Bisping lost.

Looks like it's Weidman's turn.
The UFC has grown extremely lazy when it comes to the promotional department. They seem to be on a trend of picking the easy way out when all it takes to get guys like Hendricks and Weidman some credibility with the casual fan is to put their promotional machine behind them. Keep the highlights pumping across the fox platforms and they'll build these guys into stars. They just need to get off their asses and do it.
