The main card is set for World Series of Fighting's sophomore show, and a new welterweight matchup between Josh Burkman (24-9) and Aaron Simpson (12-4) is the latest addition to the five-fight main card, officials today announced.
The event takes place March 23 at Revel Atlantic City in New Jersey. The main card airs on NBC Sports Network.
Burkman and Simpson are both former UFC fighters. Burkman, a cast member on "The Ultimate Fighter 2," is 6-1 since a 10-fight UFC stint from 2005-2008. He most recently scored a unanimous-decision victory over Gerald Harris in WSOF's debut show back in November.
Simpson, meanwhile, fights for the first time since his UFC release, which came after a solid 7-4 run in the organization. In fact, Simpson, a two-time NCAA Division I wrestler, was on a 4-1 run before a recent knockout loss to Mike Pierce. It was his second fight since dropping from middleweight to welterweight.
