Fighters make big paydays when they put a$$e$ in seats. I think Ivan Salaverry is a great fighter. He's one of my favorites, but if I'm putting a card together I'm not paying him big money. No one is buying a ticket when they hear his name, and no one is going to push the order button when they see his name. Liddell, Hughes, Ortiz, Rampage, Silva, even Gracie and Rutten are guys that people will pay big money to see, therefore they get paid big money. The UFC is what's driving this sport in America right now, like it or not. The guys they put in fights are the guys we talk about in this forum, and then when the fight sucks we blame the UFC. If new fans come to this forum and see everyone hatin on the UFC, and it's the only show they ever get to watch, it'll be hard to grow a fanbase any larger than just hardcore fans.
