They caughed up more money? That's kinda ridiculous IMO but one thing with MMA fighters (and fighters in general, K-1, Boxing, etc.) the bigger their paychecks get, the bigger their ego gets which in turn amkes them demand a bigger paycheck and again gives them a bigger ego so it is a revolving door that never ceases.
I dunno what the numbers were but he probably makes $400,000 per fight as it is, he must be trying to get another $100,00 out of it if he is to make it to the finals and lose.
He is a great fighter and one the most exciting to watch but he in no way hold the cards in Pride, if he were in UFC he could pretty much call the shots but Pride's HW division is so deep he does not have as much leverage as he would like but Pride will of course keep as long as his demands are reasonable becasue he does draw a huge amount of attention and has certainly built a home in Pride.
