Personally, I think he's just doing this to hype the fight and look like the hero in the end for battling the "evil Japanese" and getting the fight to happen. |
It's called publicity, of course Dana White will bring fighters from PRIDE inside the octagon for a stare down. It is an attempt to bring some credibility to UFC. I would seriously doubt PRIDE would pull out of this fight due to a few hundred thousand dollars, the fact is, if the fight happened Silva is a favorite to win the fihgt and the publicity that would bring to PRIDE would bring in MULTI MILLIONS not a mesely few hundred thousand so I assure you PRIDE is not bitching about a few hundred thou.
This is the same thing UFC did with bringing Chuck to the PRIDE events. They would not bring a boring fighter like Sylvia (even if he wasn't a can) to represent the UFC in PRIDE as they wre trying to gain a fan base in Japan and Sylvia will not do that for you. An exciting fighter like Chuck would but after his dissmantling by Rampage the fans likely thought, well if he can't beat Rampage there is no way in hell he can beat Silva (my thoughts exactly).
I would like to see the UFC continue their sucess and bring in more talent, I am a big fan of the UFC I just do not care for Dana White, he is a tool.
With his constant dick-moves like his booting the WFA Principal out of UFC 61, his negative comments about the WFA and the IFL to try and tarnish their organization. Let your fighters do the talking not the loud mouth president, it's just gay.
