In addition, I don't think MMA works like boxing, I think it is always a 1 point difference and never a 2 point difference. Could be wrong but Rogan and many others are in belief that the scoring system is per round with only a 1 point differential. Again I could be wrong, not sure on the point system.
1st round other than that nice uppercut Diego landed at the very beginning of the fight, I thought Karo landed more strikes and takedowns which should've given him round 1.
Also regarding the dmage factor, I think Diego does not bruise like Karo and other fighters do, some fighters swell and bruise much easier than others and I don't think Diego has ever shown real signs of damage even in the Diaz fight where he ate some big punches.
Nonetheless, Diego looked very impressive, unfortunately I still see GSP and Hughes at the top of the pedistal and on a completely differnt level than any other WW in UFC. Diego is very fast but Hughes and GSP are as well and they are much stronger than Diego, Sanchez' relentlessness could play a factor in wearing down GSP or Hughes but that is their game as well so I do not see it happening.
Great Main Event though! |
I wont saying you decide a whole fight by damage, but in a round as close as the 1st the visible damage is more then likely goin to be the deciding factor. And now that the whole 10-8 thing has been cleared up, i would defiently give Diego a 10-8 round the 3rd.
