Chuck has fought 3 times in 1 year and I think that is the most he has ever fought in a single year in UFC.
If Cro Cop is durable enough to keep fighting Pride will keep on having him headline shows as is an an absolute crowd favorite, he is a huge name in the sport and he puts asses in the seats at stadiums and at homes and bars via PPV.
Same thing Hughes, Chuck, and Tito do though they do not fight as often as we would like. 3 fights per year is very active, that is the number where you would liek to see the star fighters. |
I agree, it's nuts to fight that many times in a year. I think he likes to prove after a loss that he is a warrior and will take any fight any time. I think eventually it will wear on him though.
I like what UFC does though as far as making their champions defense their titles more. It seems that time after time in PRIDE it's a bunch of these non-title fights for their champions. I understand alot of it has to do with GP's but it's kind of bogus when Gomi gets completely owned by Aurelio and is still the champ.
