10/26/07 Quote: Chris Cariaso defeats Richard McCorkel
Round 1
McCorkell rushed in for a takedown but Cariaso delivered some punches before throwing McCorkell to the mat. From guard, McCorkell looked for an armbar that turned into an omaplata, but Cariaso escaped. McCorkell then got to his feet, where he was warned by referee Cecil Peoples for griping the fencing to avoid a takedown. McCorkell then found range with his hands, connecting with several hard blows. Cariaso shrugged them off and tripped to McCorkell to the floor briefly. 10-9 for McCorkell.
Round 2
Cariaso scored with a trip early in the round, and followed with short right hands from half-guard. McCorkell stood and was ripped back down to the floor. McCorkell went for an armbar but Cariaso had none of it. After a scramble that sent the fight back to standing, Cariaso landed a right forearm that did damage before taking McCorkell down. 10-9 for Cariaso.
Round 3
A right leg head kick grazed McCorkell's melon early in the frame. Cariaso, who looked dominant as the fight wore on, took McCorkell to the canvas and worked for a Kimura. McCorkell escaped to his feet and tackled Caraiaso, but was swept quickly after. Peoples stood them up with 30 seconds remaining. A clinch and a big elbow from Caraiso followed. 10-9 for Cariaso. All three judges scored the contest 30-27 for Chris Cariaso. Givanildo Santana defeats Jaime Fletcher
Round 1
Fletcher shot in early and took Santana to the mat with a double-leg. Santana worked for an armbar but he could not secure his leg around Fletcher's head. Fletcher stood and ate a punch and a flying knee for his effort. Santana got a takedown of his own, where he worked briefly from the mount and back of Fletcher before locking in a fight-ending armbar at 2:46 of the first. Shane DelRosario defeats Amedeo Viola
Round 1
Viola rushed in wildly and willed DelRosario to the mat. DelRosario looked for an armbar but Viola cleared the hold. DelRosario went high with his hips again and was successful with a triangle choke. Viola tapped at 2:27 of the opening period. Muhsin Corbbrey defeats Bobby McMasters
Round 1
Corbbrey struck from the outside early, using an effective short jab before McMasters dropped levels for an effective double-leg takedown. McMasters teed off with right and left hands from his opponent's closed-guard. Digging body shots landed for McMasters as he struck away, content to ground-and-pound from Corbbrey's guard. A terribly timed standup follows from referee Jason Herzog. Corbbrey then locks in a guillotine choke that promts McMasters to tap just seconds before the period were to close. The official time is 4:59 of the first.
Shayna Baszler defeats Jennifer Tate
Round 1
Tate came out swinging wild and ate a right hand to the chin. Baszler swooped in and took the fight to the floor, where she ended it seconds later with a slick armbar. Tate taps quickly at 0:44 of the first. Malaipet MTA defeats Kaleo Kwan
Round 1
Malaipet displays his Muay Thai game with low kicks in the opening minute. A left hand cracked Kwan with his back to the cage. Malaipet absolutely picked Kwan apart with low kicks and the occasional punch from the outside. Malaipet turned it on in the final 30 seconds with a right hook to the body and several hard kicks. 10-9 for Malaipet.
Round 2
Round two is a carbon copy of the first, with Malaipet attacking the left leg of Kwan and mixing in the occasional punch or body kick. Kwan checks a handful of them, but most land crushingly. With 90 seconds remaining in the round, Kwan landed two right hands to the head, which only seemed to make Malaipet angry. 10-9 for Malaipet.
Round 3
Malaipet started with an inside kick to Kwan's left leg. Kwan closed the distance and landed a hard knee and left hand to the midsection. Kwan shot in and was robbed from a takedown as Malaipet grabbed the fence to keep his balance. Cecil Peoples voiced disapproval but did not issue a warning or deduct a point. The rest of the bout plays out like a broken record, with Malaipet cracking the legs of Kwan. 10-9 for Malaipet. Two judges score the bout 30-27 for Malaipet, while a third sees it 30-26. Rosa turned his back to escape, and eventually got to his feet. A knee and left hand landed for Rosa against the cage. Hamman again threw Rosa to the canvas and took the mount. Rosa escaped the bad position and showed enough defense to illicit a standup from referee Marcos Rosales. Close round. 10-9 for Hamman.
Round 2
Hamman kicks off the second with a fast takedown. Hamman, after moving to side-control, kneed the body and scored with elbows to the head. Rosa turned his back and was submitted quickly with a rear-naked choke. The official time is 1:46 of the second frame.
