Default 2007 - Highest Grossing Year in the History of HBO Boxing

850K buy Mayweather-Hatton!
The numbers are in. The December 8th HBO-PPV clash between Floyd Mayweather and Ricky Hatton generated 850,000 pay-per-view buys and $47 million in PPV revenue. The breakdown was 520,000 from cable and 330,000 from satellite. It was a tremendous year for Floyd, who's bout with Oscar De La Hoya in May generated an all time record 2.4 million buys and $134 million in revenue. All told, 2007 was the highest performing year in HBO Pay-Per-View history with 4.8 million buys and more than $255 million in revenue across eight boxing events. The previous high for HBO PPV in boxing was in 1999 with four million buys and $200 million in revenue. In 2006, HBO PPV registered 3.7 million buys and $177 million in revenue.

Boxing is dead? Boxing isn't even struggling.
