i think a big reason the pride fighters have not done good (crocop) is that they are used to fighting in the ring. When you put them in the cage, they have a little less room, (a small disadvantage to strikers) and there are cage tactics that the ufc fighters are used to. (using the cage to get up, using it to give the opp nowhere to go so they can land an elbow, there is no restart in the center of the ring because you are falling out) And as little as this is, the octagon is a different shape...it changes the way you cut off opponents and how fighters can circle/counter. Chuck has it down perfect, but then again chuck is a cage fighter. People can talk all this trash about the pride fighters because we're seeing the pride fighters come to ufc under rules that generally take away some of the pride fighters tools. if we were to see the ufc fighters go to pride and fight the 10 minute 1st round, ground stomp, soccer kick, north-south knees, fight in the ring, im sure some of the ufc fighters would not do as good.

When you look at some of the ufc fighters that went to pride for a fight, it seems like they dont do as good in pride as they would have in the cage. Same thing with the pride fighters comming into ufc, granted the cage had nothing to do with vanderlei getting his ass handed to him.

I would still like to see fedor in the cage. hes been undefeated for so long, and just as there are cage tactics, ive seen fedor use ring rope tactics to reposition or stop takedowns (matt lindland)

Thank you. A rational opinion on the subject and a FIRST post from a new member. I appreciate your comments and hope to see more from you.

This post is what people want to see rather than "Pride sux ...UFC Rulz" or vice versa. LOL
