Actually, people who hate MMA and want to restrict licensing and venue approval care quite a lot, and will use any little drama they can rake up to fight the spread of the sport into a more legitimate place in society.

A fighter needs a certain amount of distain for other fighters to even get into this sport. They need a killer instint to to go in there and give it their all. |
No. Hendo and Rampage are friends, and they sold tickets. If you don't have talent, you need drama...but if you are a professional, you should have the talent, or work towards getting it.

Point is, bullshit melodrama like that gets MMA compared to human cockfighting in the mainstream media, and is used as support when some idiot wants to outlaw it in Australia, or compare it to the NFL for some stupid reason.
I don't care about trash talking, I pretty much ignore it. But the point is, this got to a point where Melvin needed to be restrained
after the decision. Granted, Melvin obviously has a head full of snakes, but Clementi could have laughed it off and said "learn some JJ Melvin" without all the repressed homoerotic posturing, and nonsense probably wouldn't have gotten to the lame "teen-kegger-soap-opera-dude-hold-me-back" level that it did. Or if it did, Melvin would have obviously been beyond the norm. As it stands, you have two stupid [and C-level, at best] fighters behaving unprofessionally in a huge PPV...somewhere neither of them deserve to be again.
If I liked melodrama, I'd watch reality television or that desperate housewives shit my wife watches. But I want to be able to see a variety of fights from a variety of venues, and I hope for professional behavior from the professional fighters.
