I agree that Sylvia is way above Choi in MMA experience and a legitimate record, but no one can say Sylvia is this great fighter. He isn't great at anything in MMA besides being a matchup problem and an akward fighter because of his size. Sure he has enough skills to win fights against much smaller opponents, but I think Hong would fair very similar in the UFC if he wasn't too big to fight HW.
My original point was that Chuck should stay at LHW and that the success of Couture moving up was only two wins over questionable opponents. I think the reason why I brough Couture moving up should be obvious to anyone who has been following MMA longer then a year.
Chuck's wrestling isn't considered world class although he was a great NCAA wrestler at Cal Poly. He was never all american or a champ, but he did very well for a Cal Poly wrestler. CHuck has great wrestling and he displays in almost every fight when fighters try and take him down. You brought up Couture's success because of his wrestling...well, don't you remember when he fought Chuck and he couldn't get Chuck down? |
i totally agree on Tims most 2 impressive wins.. as i said.. i dont like him. and i agree on your review of him. But i also dont think the other guys he beat are "unimpressive" no they arent great, but are heads and shoulder above a lot of guys.. I agree about chuck staying at lhw, and i agree about chucks " world class wrestling" ive never seen it as i said. i think we agree more than we disagree..
