What a ride this thread is to read. A lot of people really have their egos tied into these boards. Thats pretty pathetic really. Even worse when it is MMA fan elitism.

"I AM a hardcore fan!"

"Nuh-uh! You said Joe Blow sucks....that means you suck-F@##% Newbie!"

What a crock. I can't believe it.

As for the actual discussion, Pride fighters are as great as the resources they had available to them. So are UFC fighters. The rules and the changes all do have effects. I saw that in the Silva Liddell fight when Wanderlei watched chuck sit on his knees and rather than charging forward to pummel him he stayed put trying to discipline himself for UFC rules which prohibit every idea that was crossing through his mind.

I think the biggest difference between the guys from these two orgs is the science that goes into training them. The US has the best schooling in the world for athletic trainers. Therefore UFC guys are cutting weight better which means they are often considerably heavier than the Pride guys. Teh high school and college wrestling in the United States also heavily lends itself to this. This stuff all makes a difference.

As the guys from other orgs start getting their training up to the same level as the UFC the results will balance out. It makes total sense for the UFC to win more of the initial contests. It doesn't really speak much to the organizations themselves. They were both on the level. They both have variances that make them hard to argue. The NH has got to stop. So does the "BS elite MMA Fan" crap. So you are king of an MMA blog. SFW.
