When I first joined, the community was small, had its share of asswipes --especially in the Pride vs. UFC Cold War, but the site was informative, and full of lucid arguments and great information. I learned more here about MMA as a whole in my first 3 months than I ever thought I would, and often times it was from people I didn't even agree with.
Now it just feels very different. I don't care how many times atj-lucko screams that Randy was right to dishonor his contract.... he offers no substance, so its an idiotic point. I don't care how many people have built alters to Fedor, he's a man and can be beaten (if he fights) just like anyone. All the screaming in the world doesn't change that.
I don't come here as often as I once did either because the "good ole days" of teaching and learning are long gone. Attracting garbage flies and parasites is an unfortunate side effect of popularity. Unfortunately, the idiots wear away at the informed, and over time you see a complete demographic change ala sherdog which has basically been reduced to the intellectual level of a junior high cafeteria. |

I wonder how many people be bashing Tim Sylvia if he did the same thing, say right after the last fight he had with AA, how many people would be saying "No way Sylvia must full fill his contract", people here be happy as pigs in shit if Sylvia was leaving because of contract disrupt.

The problem with sherdog is that there are too many members its like trying to have a civil discussion in a stadium filled with 50,000 people, I can't be done. It's not because there aren't smart people over there, its just the only way you get attention over there is to say something stupid.
This forum is still small enough and we have allot of smart hardcore MMA fans.
