One problem that I see here is the terms "nut hugger" and "fighter bashing". If someone is a fan of a certain fighter or MMA organization they're often classified as a "nut hugger" by the trolls (and yes...there ARE trolls here who are considered "senior members"). On the other hand, it's almost impossible to debate the sport of MMA or talk about certain "key" fighters without being accused of "fighter bashing". The site is down right boring without debate, especially during a slow new cycle as it relates to MMA. The term "fighter bashing" needs to be redefined. |
I think that the job of a mod is to moderate discussion, regardless of how they feel about the subject or the debate. I've seen mods allow flaming simply because they may disagree with the opinion of the person who is being flamed.
That all being said, this place is awesome. It's evolving and that's fine...even good. And anyone who leaves a "good bye note" or something like that is simply crying for attention and will all come back. The mods can tell you....how many people who left these "good bye notes" log back in for weeks after that to read peoples responses. Legend will come back.

It also kinda sucks when your post gets edited for speaking the truth.
