Yes and no. Tim going to fight for Affliction is win/win for Dana.

Tim wins? Then Dana can talk all sorts of shit about Fedor and say he is overrated and a can etc...

Tim loses? Dana can say that Tim was past his prime and that is why the UFC let him go.

The other great part about this for Dana is he gets to see what's what without ponying up the farm to Fedor. So we have heard that the pay for just Tim and Fedor may be in the neighborhood of $3 million for those 2 alone. I would be surprised if they make their money back on even that fight, so why would the UFC want to promote it? They already know that Tim is not a draw, and Fedor (although dominant and popular with the forums) is not a big draw either.
