Bettman wants to investigate and try to stop all long term contracts??? WAR Balsillie | It's not about the fact that they are long term contracts. The issue is whether or not the teams purposely made the length of the contract past the year they expect the play to retire. It's about circumventing the cap. Nothing will come out of it unless they can prove Phili and Chicago expect those players to retire before the end of their contract.
