PACQUIAO GETS CHANCE TO MAKE HISTORY NOW THAT WBO TITLE IS UP FOR GRABS
By Ben Thompson | August 10, 2009
Pacquiao fans can rest easy now as their idol will have a chance to make boxing history. According to Dan Rafael of ESPN.com, whether he likes it or not, Miguel Cotto's WBO title will indeed be on the line when he steps in the ring to face Manny Pacquiao on November 14. A source close to the situation informed Rafael on Monday that whether he chooses to defend, vacate or be stripped of the belt, Cotto's WBO welterweight title will "definitely" be up for grabs for Pacquiao. If Pacquiao is victorious, he will become the first boxer in history to win seven world titles in seven different divisions.
With the final roadblock out of the way, Top Rank officially announced earlier today that tickets priced at $1,000, $750, $500, $300 and $150 will go on sale next Monday, August 17, at 1PM ET/10AM PT. Tickets are limited 10 per person and the $150 tickets are limited to two per person, with a total ticket limit of 12 tickets per person. To charge by phone with a major credit card, call Ticketmaster at (800) 745-3000. Tickets also are available for purchase at Las Vegas Hotels - MGM Grand Hotel & Casino or Tickets for Concerts, Sports, Arts, Theater, Family, Events, more. Official Ticketmaster site....
| I'm a huge Pac fan but if this fight is at a catch weight of 145lbs then this should NOT be a title fight. This is for lack of a better word bullshit in one of it's most purist instances.
