The Ultimate Fighting Championship’s second live event on Versus is set to take place Aug. 1 in Salt Lake City.
The Salt Lake Tribune on Monday reported that the promotion had recently applied to the Utah Athletic Commission for approval of the event. Marc Ratner, UFC Vice President of Regulatory Affairs, on Tuesday confirmed the Salt Lake City event to MMAWeekly.com.
UFC on Versus 2 will take place at EnergySolutions Arena and air live on the Versus network. It will be the promotion’s second Sunday night event; the first was the UFC on Versus 1 on March 20 in Broomfield.
The promotion had originally slated Oakland, Calif., for its second Versus event, but recently shifted gears. Oakland isn’t out of the picture however. The city could land a pay-per-view event.
The UFC is considering a major event in California in August, and would like to make a trip to the San Francisco Bay Area.

Any one know of any free agents that are from the Bay area that can make a debut that night and probably SELL OUT the arena???
