| | Straight kicks to the Knee
Uscola kicked McCray twice with front leg kicks to the knee and almost destroyed his knee on the second one. It hyper-extended backward and he grimaced and could barely stand up. Obviously he recovered and Uscola never threw another one in the fight.
How far is too far with these kicks? One of the first kicks I was taught to end fights is a side kick to the knee and step through it to break the knee joint and push it completely backwards. This would not be deemed very sportsman-like so why would these front knee kicks be allowed. A couple of them and it loosens the ligaments in the knee causing instability. They are very different from kicks to the thighs. It is a maiming technique used to incapacitate another fighter if done with enough force.
Just want some take on what people think is too far with these kicks to the knee joint.
