California State Income Tax Rates

CA State Tax Rates | CA Tax Calculator | Cost of Living Calculator

Before using our Income Tax Calculator, here are some basic tax principles that you should know. California state income tax along with a federal tax is usually withheld from your paycheck as you receive it each pay cycle. While the federal income tax rates are set for each income bracket, CA state income tax rates do not necessarily align with the federal figures.

The variable income tax rate for California is determined by CA state tax legislation. How much income tax that is withheld from your paycheck depends on which tax bracket you fall under. In general the more you make, the more you will be taxed. To find out more about CA income tax, sales tax, W4 forms, 1040 forms, tax returns, current state tax rates and general California tax information, click here for the Franchise Tax Board.

How California State income tax rates are structured

If your income range is between $47,056 and $1,000,000, your tax rate on every dollar of income earned is 9.3%.

which is complete bullshit, btw... but anyway, let's round up to 10%

Tax Brackets (Federal Income Tax Rates) 2000 through 2009 and 2010

federal income tax would probably between 171.850+ and thus it is...33 % WHICH IS ON TOP OF THE 10%, so all ready nick has paid over 40% of his earnings to Obama...

THEN there's city taxes, Stocton has an additional 9% income tax...so that is now well above HALF of his money over to the government...

so 47k isn't as much as a 100k now is it?
