Randy couldn't really take down Vera; Bones took him down with ease. No one has been able to take Machida down, so I don't know why you would just assume Randy could. I would not want to see Randy fight Jones, Machida, Rashad, Shogun, Bader, or Rampage. I think him fighting any of these fighters would end brutally. And really I think he knows that, otherwise he wouldn't say what he said.
But I do think it's really cool that a guy his age has still been competitive, fighting some very solid guys. I've been a fan of Randy for a while, and think he still has a few good fights left in him.
