One of the most important thngs about this article is this:
"I don't think I'm going to make any public announcements because I don't think anybody's going to buy it."
With Randy having retired a few years back, only to come out of retirement to face (and beat) Tim Sylvia for the HW title, no one is going to really believe him if he says he retires again, but we'd all like to think Randy is going to be fighting forever, but I think we all know that Couture's career is coming to an end.
Sure he's always in amazing shape, he's an incredible fighter, and he defies the aging process, but now seems like the perfect time for Couture to hang up the gloves. I'd hate more than anything to see Couture's career (and legacy) go the same way as Ken Shamrock's. Don't get me wrong, the two are very different in that Couture can still fight at the highest level (and win), but there will come at time fairly soon (within the next two years imo) when he simply won't pose a threat to any of the new breed fighters. I'm sure Tito's recent fight again Hamill made Randy think a little more about this.
He'll always be a legend, and I'm sure it won't be the last we see of Couture (outside of the octagon), but maybe it's for the best.
