So he got put to sleep. Except for he tapped to strikes. So he tapped to strikes while unconscious?
You say SO many things that make no sense that I just end up thinking it's an accident when you say something that DOES make sense.

Anyways, my opinion on whether highlights count or not is that they do count. However they are a small factor and more of a tie-breaker type of factor.

The Chris Lytle example is actually a good one. No, nobody thinks Lytle is an all-time great despite his stellar highlight reel. However, he is probably regarded much higher than most other UFC fighters who hover around a .500 record, right?

Of course GSP makes up for it in other ways. The fact that he often wins fights by COMPLETELY dominating the scorecard, virtually winning the fight for the entire 25 minutes is a seprate, different kind of awesome.

It would be hard to argue that it would have been BETTER for GSP had he KOed Fitch instead of just dropped him, and actually pulled off the Kimura on Hardy instead of coming close.
These aren't NEGATIVES to be used AGAINST GSP, just LESS points in the positive column, if you know what I mean.

So yeah, highlight real material should have a positive impact on the way a fighter is viewed, as far as I'm concerned.
