well what did you expect him to try and do? he got taken down right away when your on your back you should try and submit your opponent it dont think thats cocky.

he probably had a better chance of subbing miller since his bjj is awesome then would getting out on bottom with a bigger wrestler on top of him. i dont see it as cocky at all.

however, they way he came in at the weighins and even the walkout was some cocky shit he had like a separate pair of clothes over his sponsored clothes so he could rock the baggy jeans big chain shit. i didnt think it translated into his actual fighting though but thats jsut me.
