Now, I will reiterate for the slow: GSP is an amazing fighter and easily the greatest WW of all time. However, the fact that Anderson is undefeated in title defenses and has finished every opponent except Cote (injury), Maia, and Leites trumps a guy who has lost twice in title fights.
I don't see how that's so controversial.
And yes, stepping up to a weight class that is 20 lbs higher impresses me more than fighting a guy who is naturally 15 lbs lighter than you. Especially when you absolutely dominate and finish those 2 fighters in the manner Anderson did. |
Well there is barely a difference between Anderson's losses and GSP. Anderson is very close to retiring and those losses happened a long time ago earlier in his career. When do you think those losses appeared with GSP? Early in his career. It is only now that GSP is coming into his prime and he hasnt lost in his prime just like Anderson hasn't.
