I could understand someone arguing that someone should have to take a longer road back to the title shot, if they've already had a chance against the current champion. GSp had to do this to get his second shot against Hughes. If Fitch beats BJ, he will have taken that harder road.
My question to you is this: If BJ wins, how far back does that push Fitch? Will have have to win ANOTHER 6-7-8 fights to get back in the picture? |
If BJ Penn wins, I think he would have to beat 2 or so top contenders. Hardy, Condit, Shields, Kos (yea I know it will never happen) or Kampmann. 2 or 3 of those guys. Plus Penn would either have to go back to LW or fight for the title.
The winner of Penn/Fitch should fight the winner of Shields/GSP. The losers of both fights should probably fight as well.
