They msut be stood up when that happens.
They lay on you and ride out the clock. That's exactly what they're doing. They know it...we know it and the refs know it. They don't want to admit it but it's true. | This is exactly the problem, its not about wanting them to stand and bang, i enjoy a good ground battle as much as a stand up battle but when a wrestler like lets say Fitch(who does this regularly)brings the fight to the ground, gets a dominent position and then chooses to do nothing with it but hold his oppenent down and wait out the clock, when they refuse to g'n'p or look for a submission from the dominent position preferring to just lie there doing nothin but waiting out the clock. Its almost like the equivilent of a stand up fighter looking to clinch up against the cage and then doing nothing from the clinch but leaning on the other fighter and waiting down the clock.
Now nobody wants to see that wheter its on the ground or on the feet, they are in a fight afterall. I have seen fighters go through all 3 rounds having a dominent position and not attempt a single submission or instigate any g'n'p. Referee's are going to have to start using there god given common sense to know when a fighter is exploiting this and intervene. I agree that the yellow card system could be effective in finding a solution to this.
